Fair Oaks Ranch

Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, has a rich history that began in the 1930s when oilman Ralph Fair, Sr. acquired several parcels of land. Originally a working ranch with a dairy, granary, and racehorse operation, it later became home to a cutting-edge Hereford cattle program. After the passing of Mr. and Mrs. Fair, the family transformed part of the ranch into a residential community in 1975. The 14,000 sq. ft. Fair home was converted into a country club in 1978 and remains the heart of social life at Fair Oaks Ranch today.

Despite being only 8.5 square miles, Fair Oaks Ranch spans three counties—Bexar, Comal, and Kendall—and has seen rapid growth in the last decade, now home to over 6,000 residents. The community offers easy access to championship 18-hole golf courses, parks, trails, swimming pools, and tennis courts, making it perfect for an active lifestyle. Plus, Fair Oaks Ranch is just minutes from Boerne’s charming restaurants and shops, as well as the popular retail destinations at The Rim and The Shops at La Cantera.

Living in Fair Oaks Ranch means being part of an excellent school district and enjoying proximity to major San Antonio employers like USAA, Valero, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and the South Texas Medical Center. It’s a place where families can thrive, combining small-town charm with all the conveniences of city life nearby.
